Everyday Noise

Everyday Noise is a study of street noise in intersections. It is about how to encourage public engagement in an urban space. For noise visualization, I have used only black and white colors, and pixels. These aspects are related to noise, and at the same time basic pieces for patterns. I used the program, Max/MSP and Jitter for noise visualization, which is patterns by using some aspects of sound having volume size and pitches. This is a real-time visualization and it shows a ton of patterns through pixels. A basic idea is projecting visuals onto building near nosy intersection. I want to change negative aspects, everyday noises into graphics onto buildings. This is a kind of energy recycling, and can better social atmosphere. We can use noise for a better human life. I made a book as a documentation of this project by using a screen-printing. This book is a variation on that theme. I documented everyday sounds such as doors closing, and dishes breaking, and converted it into a pattern which I then screen-printed.
